Featuring Sarah Day & Laura Frye
By 1990,
renowned short story writer Ruth Steiner has become a recluse in
Greenwich Village. Enter Lisa Morrison, her bright-eyed young
protégée. Over the next six years, under Ruth's tutelage, Lisa
advances from insecure student to faithful assistant to successful
writer. As the relationship between these two strong-willed
women evolves, the playwright who gave us BROOKLYN BOY and DINNER
WITH FRIENDS brings their fascinating story to a dramatic
conclusion.
A collaboration with Forward Theater Company of Madison.

MCT’s “Collected Stories” puts family first
Thursday, November 22, 2012

The play follows two characters, Ruth (Sarah Day), a reclusive Jewish writer in her 60s, and Lisa (Laura Frye), a WASP-y grad student in her late 20s, over six years. The two women may not be literally related, but Wright says their dynamic is nonetheless a family one...
