‘Deathtrap’ is a funny, suspenseful, classic mystery

Writer's block is killing playwright Sidney Bruhl, so he decides to fight back and do a little killing of his own. But things don't turn out as planned. That's the conceit behind Deathtrap, playwright Ira Levin's 1978 Tony Award-nominated comedy-thriller that opens Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's 2017-18 season Aug. 10.

DEATHTRAP has the distinction of being the longest-running play of its type in Broadway's history - 1,793 performances between February 1978 and June 1982. It also is one of the most technically perfect plays that DEATHTRAP director Michael Cotey has ever come across.
